McGinnis Lochridge is the latest law firm to announce it will move its local office into 609 Main at Texas, a downtown office tower that Houston-based developer Hines opened in 2017. The firm's Houston office currently is at 711 Louisiana St., suite 1600. The move will be official Sept. 4, and McGinnis Lochridge will occupy 14,000 square feet at 609 Main St., suite 2800, according to a press release. Talos Energy has leased 98,000 square feet in Three Allen Center for relocation of its headquarters from One Allen Center. Brookfield Property Partners' Three Allen Center, at 333 Clay downtown, is now 94 percent leased. "Talos Energy's core founders have started and operated successful Exploration and Production companies out of the Allen Center Complex for more than 17 years," Talos Energy senior vice president and chief financial officer Michael Harding said in an announcement. Northwestern Mutual fast-tracked its plans for a downtown office after Hurricane Harvey disrupted operations at its main Houston office near the Galleria.

The Milwaukee-based financial services firm has moved into the 31st floor of the Kinder Morgan building at 1001 Louisiana. The new office, totaling nearly 4,200 square feet, establishes a base for serving clients in the downtown and Texas Medical Center areas. In a move that's indicative of Houston tenants' demand for high-quality office space, a wealth management company plans to vacate its un-renovated space at 1801 Smith Street and move into more than 20,000 square feet of newly upgraded space in the same building.

Houston-based Legacy Trust Co. will relocate to 21,605 square feet on the the 18th floor of 1801 Smith Street, which was formerly known as 600 Jefferson and rebranded as part of Stream Realty's multimillion-dollar renovation of the building. The company is currently in un-renovated space on the third floor. It's expanding by a few hundred square feet and will relocate to the 18th floor in January 2018.
